Wall Street Social Revolution

Wall Street Protests

by Jonathon Blakeley. 18/09/2011

Twitter is alive with chatter as activists from all over the US are converging on Wall Street for a Day of Rage. Their anger at the Banker Elite and how they have ripped us all off is at boiling point. The bizarre thing is that there is a total media blackout in the papers , TV and radio. Not a word of the popular revolution that is taking hold in New York. So far it has been quite peaceful and good natured but it is still early.

Twitter hashtags followed

  1. #OurWallStreet
  2. #OccupyWallStreet (censored)
  3. #takeWallStreet (censored)
  4. #BeiberQuadAnalWallStreet

SpidersBasically, the Police keep on asking who the leader is and the crowd keep on answering ‘there is no leader, we are one’. Echoing the mantra of anonymous hacktivists. People have been following it on twitter closely but twitter has also been censoring hashtags from appearing as trending topics in order to stop the viral nature of this social revolution spreading far and wide. As in the Arab countries they were undone by social media, and similarly now it is happening  in the US and they don’t like it one bit. Trolls are coming out of the woodwork and are attacking people all over Twitter.  Someone even called me a ‘fag’… lol…losers.

Wall Street Protests2 I have been following a group called the Art Super Heroes who are driving a Wikileaks truck around New York. There is even the touching sight of hippy activists sat in circle meditating by candlelight while double rows of policemen stand nearby, guarding Banks and investment houses. We live in very interesting times. The question everyone is asking is ….

Will they stop Wall Street opening on Monday? and then what will happen?….Exciting!! Who needs TV!!! Revolution – Evolution!
